The Eastern Discovery

This is an 8-hour tour, designed to give you a complete and immersive experience of Madeira's east side. We offer free pickup from the following locations: Machico, Santa Cruz, Canico, Funchal, and Camara de Lobos.

Your day begins with a scenic drive up to Pico do Areeiro, where you will experience breathtaking views above the clouds and dramatic mountain ridgelines, one of the most iconic sights in Madeira.

From there, we descend into the lush greenery of Ribeiro Frio, located in the heart of the Laurissilva forest. Here, you will have time to enjoy the peaceful surroundings and take in the island's unique natural beauty.

We then continue towards Machico, the historic landing site of Madeira's first settlers, where you will discover beautiful coastal views and learn a bit about the island's origins.

The journey takes us along the coastline to Ponta de Sao Lourenco, often referred to as the Dragon's Tail, where rugged cliffs and dramatic landscapes create a completely different side of Madeira.

Next, we head to Porto da Cruz, where you will have the opportunity to visit a traditional rum factory, offering a glimpse into one of the island's most authentic local traditions.

We continue towards Faial, stopping at the famous Guindaste Viewpoint, where glass platforms offer incredible views over the ocean and cliffs below.

From there, we visit Santana, known for its traditional triangular houses, before exploring the surrounding northern coastline, where you will see waterfalls and stunning viewpoints along the way.

Throughout the day, we will also include stops for photos and short breaks, opportunities for drinks or quick refreshments, and visits to hidden viewpoints and secret spots that are not on the typical tourist route.

Every tour is adapted to the conditions on the day. If weather affects certain areas, we adjust the route to ensure you still experience the very best of Madeira.
